There are wines you taste – and wines that stay with you. Gravner undoubtedly belongs to the latter category. On Tuesday, March 17, NAZKA invites you to a special evening dedicated to one of the most influential names in the contemporary wine world: Gravner from Oslavia.
Oslavia is the border area between Italy and Slovenia, where the hills of Collio are bathed in the cool influences of the Adriatic Sea and the Julian Alps. Here, on steep terraces with the distinctive ponca soils of marl and sandstone, wines are created that breathe time and place. In underground amphorae, without modern technology, the Gravner family lets nature do its work – patiently, uncompromisingly and with deep respect for tradition.
An Evening with Mateja Gravner
This evening will be made extra special by the presence of Mateja Gravner, daughter of Joško Gravner, who will explain the wines herself. Together we will taste three vintages of Gravner Ribolla Gialla – 2013, 2014 and 2016 – and close with a rare appearance: Breg 2008, a very limited production red wine that underscores the power and depth of this unique terroir.
Gravner’s wines are known for their layering, structure and almost meditative complexity. They are wines that unfold slowly in the glass, with notes of dried herbs, orange peel, tea, earthy minerality and impressive length. They challenge, intrigue and reward attention.
Join us on Tuesday, March 17, at NAZKA for a special tasting that combines time, tradition and terroir.
€165 per person for a 4-course menu with wine pairing.
