Collevite & Ripawine

About the winery

We are quite a bit proud of it: we are the only importer outside Italy allowed to offer the wines of Ripawine as well as Collevite. And that is no coincidence.

Collevite has been an established name for decades in Ripatransone, a picturesque town in the hills of Le Marche. Collevite has some 250 acres of vineyards and diligently makes accessible, characterful wines that are loved locally and nationally. Think classics like Rosso Piceno and and Offida Pecorino & Passerina.

Out of their passion for small scale and experimentation came Ripawine – the younger, more adventurous sister of Collevite. No large runs here, but a selection of only the very best grapes. Everything is picked by hand and processed with great precision. The yield is limited: only 15,000 bottles are made annually. Until recently, exclusively for the Italian market – until we got to know them. Thanks to a special meeting and click, we may now offer these exclusive wines in the Netherlands.

THE FAMILY

About Collevite & Ripawine

The owners of Collevite and Ripawine come from farming families where the tradition and knowledge of growing grapes has been passed down from generation to generation. For all of them, caring for the vineyard is an activity shared by the whole family: from pruning and cleaning the vineyard to the crucial moment of harvest. Some of them, such as Maurizio, have the primary task of caring for the vineyards. Others, in addition to their work in the vineyards, also have other jobs and therefore work in the vineyards mainly in their spare time. The selection of the best grapes and the entire production process from harvest to bottled wine is supervised by oenologist Sandro (photo). Every year, he strives to improve the quality of the wines with care and passion, while remaining faithful to the farming traditions from which they originate.

PHILOSOPHY

Organic viticulture

The decision to produce organic wines stems from a conscious commitment to sustainable development, with a focus on the conservation and responsible use of natural resources. Organic stands for quality, authenticity, and care—care for nature, for the people who work the vineyards, and for the consumers who enjoy the wine.

RIPATRANSONE

Tradition & territory

Ripatransone is known as the Belvedere del Piceno and offers unparalleled views stretching from Gran Sasso to the Sibillini Mountains, from Conero to Gargano, to the Dalmatian coast.

The center has a medieval appearance, with Renaissance and Baroque buildings, despite the noble palaces from the early and late eighteenth centuries. These are mainly visible along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, the main axis that crosses the city from south to north. In the most popular neighborhoods, there are countless streets and alleys, including the one with the Guinness World Record for the narrowest alley in Italy: 43 centimeters. The cuisine is authentic and tasty: the typical dish of ciavarro consists of legumes and grains.

OFFIDA

Ripawine

Ripawine currently has vineyards located at altitudes ranging from 200 to 400 meters above sea level. The vineyards are divided into estates, each with a precise profile that takes into account the soil, exposure, and microclimate. Given the vastness of the vineyards and the different areas, the profiles vary considerably from estate to estate, giving the wine a precious mosaic of nuances. Ripawine's goal is to identify and enhance the characteristics of local grape varieties based on these differences. Ripawine also wants to convey the authentic power of the Piceno region in its wines.

DOC wines are produced in the Ripatransone area, such as Falerio dei Colli Ascolani, Rosso Piceno, Rosso Piceno Superiore, and DOCG Offida wines (Rosso, Passerina, and Pecorino).
