The family

Falkenstein is a true family business, with the Pratzner family at the helm in Naturns, South Tyrol. Each family member plays their own role: Franz is responsible for the cellar, Bernadette works in the vineyard, and daughters Michaela and Magdalena bring fresh ideas and vision for the future of the estate. The terroir

The Alps

The Falkenstein vineyards are located on steep, sun-drenched slopes between 600 and 900 metres above sea level in the Vinschgau Valley — one of the driest and most distinctive wine-growing regions in South Tyrol. Thanks to the mineral soils, large temperature differences between day and night, and more than 300 sunny days per year, wines with refinement, excitement and an unprecedented sense of origin are produced here.

Patience & respect for nature

At Falkenstein, patience is key. The grapes are harvested by hand, gently pressed and aged in wood — acacia wood for white, barrique for red — and only released after at least a year in the bottle. The result is wines with depth, elegance and a strong connection to their origins. The family believes in an honest, pure style in which each vintage is allowed to speak at its own pace.

Tenuta Moraia

Tenuta Moraia is located in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, near the historic village of Gavorrano. The estate covers 160 hectares, of which 60 hectares are organically cultivated. Surrounded by rolling hills and Mediterranean vegetation, the winery focuses on crafting contemporary, vibrant wines that express the authentic character of their homeland. Respect for nature and careful vineyard management lie at the core of the estate’s philosophy.

Bastioni della Rocca

Bastioni della Rocca was inspired by the golden era of Frederick II of Swabia, when southern Italy grew into a cultural and commercial center of the Mediterranean. The imposing castles that still dominate the landscape today symbolize a time when winemaking became a driving force of the local economy. The winery pays homage to this historical splendor, with wines deeply rooted in the identity of the South.
